Tuesday Night Girls’ Varsity Lacrosse between the Fenton-Linden Heat (7-0) and host, Swartz Creek Dragons (6-1), pitted the top two teams in the Flint Metro League for the outright or shared Championship. The night was cool and breezy, but the Heat were not, scoring 4 goals in under 4 minutes. Dragons notched their only goal of the half at the 18:26 mark and the Heat netted 11 more goals before halftime and after 25 minutes, the lead was 15-1.

Allison Brown had a strong game in goal, saving 16 of 19 shots. Daisey Horne (6) and Lara Kemp (5) led the team’s draw wins (19/30). Korryn Smith had 2 interceptions that resulted in easy goals and the team defense clogged the neutral zone with constant pressure.

The Heat outscored the Dragons 9-3 in the second half for a final of 24-4. Their overall record is now 9-3 and a perfect 8-0 in Metro League. This is the fifth consecutive year winning the Metro Championship and the girls have never lost to a league opponent during that time (All-Time, 32-0).
